NWP keeps my love of teaching alive and well

It is highly alarming to see that funding for the National Writing Project (NWP) has been cut at a time when teacher excellence is being sought throughout the country.

The NWP has given me the opportunity to find my professional voice among incredible educators who are passionate about their work. I became a Teaching Fellow through the Hudson Valley Writing Project (HVWP) in 2003 and was blown away by what teachers were doing in their classroom in both my immediate area and across the country. The NWP has given me the opportunity to be a part of the HVWP Technology Team for three years. I’m able to discuss my use of various tech platforms with teachers who are equally, if not more, enthusiastic about their teaching. I have also presented at the National Council of Teachers of English annual conference, worked with local teachers on test prep, and incorporated the many ideas that have been shared with me over the years into my own classroom.

NWP keeps my love of teaching alive and well; it is vital that we keep the NWP alive and well in order to benefit the tens of thousands of teachers and, in turn, hundreds of thousands of students that will be touched by this amazing organization. Keep the National Writing Project funded!
