Learning at its Best

Steam Handbook Discussion (Day 1)

This is cross-posted from The Disruption Department Blog.

I don’t know how many of you have had the chance to read the recently-leaked new employee handbook by video game, film, and platform company Steam.  It is revelatory to a culture that empowers talented people to work on what they are passionate about, and to form their own teams that create learning and increase performance.

I’m going to spend some time sifting through the handbook over the next couple days to describe the sort of atmosphere I’d like to think about for my employees, my teachers, my students and the community.

Please find a link to the handbook here and give it a read.

We’ll begin discussing tomorrow.

  1. I love it. I want to help kids leave middle school as T-shaped people. Please keep us updated here about the conversation.
