Our school entered a contest for the NJ Charter Schools Association called “We Love Our School”. As part of our school’s entry in the contest, we had to create a very short video. My students created and edited this video all on their own. Even the aerial shot of the school was taken by a student. With all the discussion about getting the kids outside, it was great to see that our students neglected to include any footage of time spent inside the classroom. You can easily see what the students value.
Beautiful! Thank you for this. The background music (by the White Stripes?) was the song my undergraduate students always started their study groups with.
Awesome. I can tell that we are gonna be friends.
So glad you like it! The kids had a lot of fun making it. Yes – it’s by the White Stripes, but covered by Jack Johnson in this version. It’s a great song.
Please invite any of your students to write for us, or to do more films… it was really great to hear their voices and how much they cared about there learning.
Thank you – I have a short essay that a student wrote about Ridge and Valley Charter School that she would like to share here. Do I just post it for her or is there another process. Thanks for the encouragement to my students -Kasey
That is up to you. You could post it as a guest post… you can email me at coopcatalyst@gmail.com and I can walk you through it!
